My Everyday Makeup Routine + Bare Minerals Made2Fit Review

March 18, 2018

Hola Amigos! Fun fact about me, I took 6 years of Spanish between Middle School and High School. Too bad I can barely translate anything anymore. I'm hoping Dulingo will change that!

Before you read anymore, make sure you go read my last post and enter my giveaway in collaboration with Smile Brilliant. All the details are at the bottom of the post.

Because that post had to go up last week I had to hold off my Made2Fit review and sharing y everyday makeup and some outfit details from my little winter wonderland adventure my friend and I took a few weeks ago. But fear not! I promised it would come so here it is.

Outfit Details: Sweater (similar) | Jeans | Belt | Necklace (similar) | Boots

I was able to try out the Bare Minerals Made2Fit app and foundation thanks to Influenster (Seriously guys, they're the bomb digity!)
The app curates a foundation the is perfectly matched to your skin using scans that you take of various parts of your face. I wanted to try this for myself see how accurate this really was.

Let me show you how it works in a little more detail.
First you need to go to the app store and download the  bareMinerals Made2Fit app. It's got a pretty nude pink icon that I actually love.

When you open the app, you are walked through the entire process with picture, video and voice instructions from calibrating your device to where to scan and how to order. It really only takes 5 minutes to get a foundation that's a perfect match to your skin.

I was so excited when I got my bottle, which is personalized with your name, so I tried a swatch on my cheek. Guys I'm not joking when I say I went about the rest of my day forgetting I only had a little patch of makeup on and not a single person could tell that's how well this matched.

So what about the formula? I tend to lean toward foundations that are on the lighter coverage side for my everyday makeup because I don't like the feeling of having a ton of foundation on all day. This foundations feels as light as a feather, while also covering up any uneven coloring I have on my skin. I do find I need to add concealer under my eyes and to any blemishes, but that's expected with a light coverage foundation. My favorite concealer are the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in the Shade Vanilla and the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in the "Brightener" Shade. I apply all my liquid/cream products with a makeup sponge

My skin is on the more oily side and this foundation has a natural finish, so do make sure to set it with a powder. I prefer to use a big fluffy brush and a loose translucent setting powder like the Laura Mercier Setting Powder or the Clinique Blended Face Powder, which I've had for year and am currently using to finish up.

I do find that the foundation looks a little oily and like some may have came off by the end of the day, but you can easily help that by using a good primer, reapplying powder throughout the day and using a matte finish setting spray at the end of your makeup routine.
I have used the Benefit POREfessional Primer forever, but if that's not your jam the Too Faced Hangover RX works great too. As for setting sprays, I swear by the Urban Decay All Nighter. If you want a cheaper alternative, the NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray is a great dupe.

I like to warm up my face (since I'm a ghost that can't get a tan) and add some dimension back into my face with a matte bronzer. I take an angled blush brush and sweep Benefit's Hoola Bronzer under my cheek bones, on my temples and under my chin to add a little bit of contour and add color to my skin. If I'm using a blush that day I'll use a little bit of the Too Faced Papa Don't Peach Blush, but usually I just go right to my highlighter. Depending on the look, I'll use Becca Shimmer Skin Perfector in Moonstone for a warmer glow or Make Up Revolution's Vivid Baked Highlighter in Radiant Lights for a cooler, more purple toned highlight.

I keep it really simple on my eyes. Using a fluffy blending brush I pick up a little bit of my bronzer and blend it into my crease. I like to put on a little black eyeliner, just so that any mascara I get on my lid isn't as noticeable. The Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner and Marc Jacobs Gel Eye Crayon are two of my favorite pencil liners. I love long voluminous lashes and if you've read any of my other beauty posts you know I SWEAR by the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, I seriously haven't tried a mascara that I like better. I also like to add a lash primer to help hold a curl. So far I've only tired the Tarte Opening Act Primer.

For brows and lips I keep it pretty simple. I like to quickly define and darken my brows a little with either a pencil like the Soap and Glory Archery Pencil or a gel like the Benefit Gimme Brow (RIP but they're launching the Gimme Brow + soon!!) I keep my lips super soft and add a little color with the Glam Glow Poutmud

I know it looks like a lot, but I've gotten this process down to about 10 minutes in the morning. Practice makes perfect! Or just makes you faster.
