How to Stay Productive Bewteen Classes

8:00 AM

It's day 2 of Blogmas 2017! I'd say this is going pretty well so far.

There are some days where I only have an hour between classes and others where I have anywhere from 2-3 hours between my first and second class. I don't live on campus so I can't just go back to a dorm and I don't really live close to campus either so it doesn't make sense for me to drive home during my breaks. That means that I have to use that time between my classes for something productive in order to get everything done that I need to do. Today I thought I'd share some of the things I like to do during my breaks to stay on top of everything, especially since finals season is upon us (I'm working on three as this is being posted)

Write a to-do list

This is the best place to start. You need to know what you have to do in order to do it. I like to not only write out my to do list in my planner but have a separate post-it with my to do list that I can stick on my work surface, whether it's my laptop, a book or my desk.

Read/Reply to Emails

Whenever I have a few minutes of down time and I don't want to start something I can't finish, I always open up my email and start clearing it out. You can do it right from you phone and it helps take away the stress and anxiety that comes with having a ton of unread notifications (please tell me I'm not the only one).

Re-Write Notes

Some people call me crazy, but I like to rewrite my class notes at least once. It makes them nearer and easier to follow. Writing something down once is the equivalent of reading it 7 times, so I like to think of this as some extra studying, along with organization and getting my life together.

Schedule Your Day/Week

Some spare time in between classes is the perfect time to organize your planner and fill in anything that you haven't had a chance to that day like a new assignment or a quiz. This is the time where I like to add any stickers or anything else that I use to decorate my planner as it is almost impossible to do it during class, especially if I'm trying to quickly write it in a the end of class.

Get Coffee or Lunch

Whether you're getting coffee alone or with a friend, on campus or at a coffee shop, it can be just the pick-me-up that you need to stay motivated to make it to your next class. You can also catch up with friends if school work has been consuming you life lately. If you're going alone, you can do any of the other things on this list!
