I love testing out new beauty products every chance I get. When you test out that many products, there's usually some great hits, as well as a few misses. I wanted to put together a post with the products I've tested out this month and let you know, in my opinion, which ones are worth your money and which ones you can pass on. If you've had any better luck wit on off my "miss" products please let me know in the comments below! As always you can shop this post and all my Instagram looks using the "Shop" tab on my blog. You can also shop all the products mentioned in the section at the bottom of the section.

Let's start this off on the good, shall we

Hits:

BH Cosmetics & Carli Bybel Palette-$14.50

I picked this palette up by the register at Charming Charlie's a few weeks ago because I had heard so much about it. I'm not big on buying things online without at least seeing them in person first so I was really glad I had a chance to pick it up in a store. This palette is the one that has 14 eyeshadows and 4 highlighters. The shadows are so soft and blendable. The color pay off is great, but if you don't tap off your brush first you'll probably get some fallout. The highlighters are amazing. They give an amazing glow that lasts all day. I checked on the BH cosmetics website and unfortunately this version of the palette is no longer available, but if you're okay with spending a few extra bucks you can get the Deluxe Palette that has 21 shadows and 6 highlighters.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in -$20

I have been dying to get my hands on the Pure Hollywood liquid lipsticks forever but whenever I go to Sephora or Ulta it's always sold out. This time was no different but I did pick up a similar color, color name here. It was a bit less pink and was just the nude color I was looking for. This stuff seriously stays on through everything!! I put it on the back of my hand the day I bought it and washed my hands several times that day. The only thing that would take it off was my makeup remover. If you tend to get lines in your lipstick I recommend using lots of lip balm before putting this on and a lip primer ( I like the Too Faced Demi-Matte Lip Insurance)

Too Faced Mascara Melt Off- $17

I use the Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara and I love it. I don't love trying to take it off. I've used olive oil in the past but that can get a little messy and isn't really approved to be using around the eyes. This stuff is eye safe and I swear has magic powers. You swipe it over your lashes like you're putting on mascara, wait at least a minute (I brush my teeth while I wait) and then wipe it off. The best part: you don't even need makeup remover; you can use a wet or dry tissue,  a washcloth or a cotton ball if you're short on wipes. This has saved my lashes so much rubbing.

NYX Wonder Stick- $12

I have been wanting to try out cream contouring for a while now, but it can be a little intimidating. This product makes it super easy, giving you colors that will match your skin tone (it comes in Light, Medium, Deep and Universal). Its super creamy, and blendable. It's just the right amount of pigmentation for a beginner or someone who wants a more natural contour, but is easily buildable if you want more coverage. The light color covers so well under my eyes I find that I don't usually need another under eye concealer (unless I'm super tired). This is so quick and easy for ever day use.

Soap and Glory Archery 2-in-1 Eyebrow Pencil- $12

If you have read any of my other beauty posts, you know I swear by the Benefit Gimme Brow Gel, and I still do. These two products are a perfect pairing for me. I wanted the sharper look a pencil gives but still wanted the full volume I got from my tinted gel. The Soap and Glory Archery pencil is very comparable to the Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil ($24). It comes with an angular tip and a clear brow gel at the bottom. I don't really use the clear gel unless I'm in a hurry or I'm just running errands.

Now onto the not so great

Misses:

Rimmel Born This Way Brow Styling Gel- $5

This is easily my least favorite product of this whole post. I picked up this and then next item one day on my way to school after I forgot to put on makeup after leaving the house. I had read really good reviews about them and was ultimately left disappointed and unimpressed. To start, the color pay off vs what's on the packaging is horrible. I got medium brown thinking it would match since every other brow product I own is medium brown and the tube was pretty dark. I was left with a caramel color that was way too light and nothing like what I expected. The brush on this product is way too big for brows and resulted in a very messy application. Not to mention the funky smell.

L'Oréal Lash Paradise Mascara-$10

This is another product that I've heard a lot about and I thought was supposed to be similar to the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara I usually use. I even got the waterproof to get an even comparison. My lashes were so short and left with very little volume, which is the opposite of what this product promises. No matter how many layers I put on I couldn't build my lashes up to the length I like to have. The more layer I piled on trying to get my desired look, to clumpier the mascara got, another thing that is the opposite of what this mascara advertises. I was really hoping I'd found a good drugstore dupe, but was left pretty disappointed.

Caudalie Radiance Serum + Moisturizing Sorbet- $79 + $39

Now I should probably start off by saying I got both of these products as my free birthday gift from Sephora. I didn't necessarily dislike either product. I just didn't see the results you would expect from a product that is that expensive. I get really dry skin in between my eyebrows during the colder months, which usually makes my makeup look a little funky. I was hoping that the Moisturizing Sorbet would help that a lot, but after a week of use I got about the same results as I have from my First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream which is $30 and gives at least double the product (Sorry, I didn't feel like doing the math). Overall I think they're good products, but not great enough to be spending over $100 on.

Fall Home Decor

October 22, 2017

Cute and Classy receives commission for clicks and purchases made from the following links

After the fall fashion and colors, one of the best parts about fall is decorating your living space, whether it's your whole house or just a bedroom or dorm room.
I love to be surrounded by lots of plush pillows, fuzzy throw blankets and TONS of candles while I sip on something warm by my fireplace with a good book and watch the leaves fall. Doesn't that just sound like the perfect day!

I've put together some of my favorite Pinterest home décor inspiration as well as some of my favorite items (mostly from Target).

Pumkins, Pumpkins Everywhere

To me, there is no better way to kick off a perfect fall weekend than a trip to a pumpkin patch. Friday after my one and only class of the day, I met my friends at a local apple orchard to pick some apples and pumpkins. We had so much fan taking all sorts of cute pictures and other shenanigans since we pretty much were the only ones in the orchards. I wasn't really planning on doing an outfit post, but I got some great shots I wanted to share with you guys and I didn't want to overload my Instagram or stories.
You can shop the whole look at the bottom of this post or in the shop tab at the top of the blog.

Fall Bucket List 2017

October 1, 2017

In case I haven't said it enough, fall is my absolute favorite season. It's the start of sweater season, the weather is (usually) just right, the leaves start turning, my birthday, Halloween, and the beginning of the holiday season. To top it all off are all of the fun, fall festivities. So naturally you make a list of all of the fun things you want to do for the season and share it on the internet.

What's on your fall bucket list this year?
