Weekend in my Life

April 23, 2017

I don't know about you guys, but I love watching weekend in my life vlogs (shoutout to Danielle Carolan). This past weekend I got to do a lot of fun stuff, so I thought I'd share it with you guys. Let me know if this a something you guys want to see more of!
If you haven't already, go follow me on Instagram (@cuteandclassyblog) to these pictures and more like them.

My best friend was home for Easter so we wanted to spend some time catching up.
We drove up to Saratoga for the day for lunch and shopping, and of course along the way we took some pictures.  Saratoga has some of the cutest boutiques and if you're ever in the upstate New York area, you definitely need to head to Broadway!
One of the first stores we went into was so aesthetically pleasing, I even had to take a picture of the adorable floor!

After that, we saw the most adorable accessory store. They sell Kate Spade and Tory Burch, as well as well as a bunch of other great brands. They seriously have the cutest jewelry, it took all my will power not to buy everything.
They also have super great marketing, which is totally what got us to go in the store in the first place.

Since they let dogs in the store, I naturally had to ask to take a picture of the beautiful Bernese Mountain dog that was inside.

After some successful window shopping, we got some lunch at a restaurant/pub called Harvey's. Guys let me tell you, I had the BEST wings and sweet potatoes of my life! We got to sit on the roof and the people watching from there was great. They had an adorable patio out front, so naturally we had to have a mini photoshoot.

Saratoga has a great little gelato shop, appropriately named Saratoga Gelato, right on Broadway. I love gelato, and don't get to eat it that often, so I always make sure to stop by when I'm in the area. It's so rich and creamy it may possibly change your life. Maybe

Saturday was a pretty laid back day. I was scheduled to work a birthday party, but it got rescheduled so we got out early. I took my laptop outside to do some of my homework since I just couldn't spend the day inside; it was so nice!

Sunday was Easter and my family and I went out to brunch. I didn't get any pictures but the food looked amazing and tasted just as good. My 3 year old cousin kept chasing the Easter bunny around, and was even playing Simon Says with him at one point. So cute!

On Monday I went outlet shopping with my friend Nicole, mom and aunt. The whale magnet I had on the back of my car got stolen a few weeks ago, so we had to make a stop at Vineyard Vines. While we were there I got the cutest strapless dress and I can't wait to wear it at the race track this summer.

I picked up a few packs of stickers too. There's a Lululemon outlet there as well and I got a pair of their shorts. Guy, these are my new favorite pair of athletic shorts, and I've worn a lot! I also got to (finally) try on a pair of Tory Burch sandals, and I'll definitely be getting a pair soon.

If you guy want to know what else I got, or would be interested in a haul post or Instagram story let me know in the comments below!

It was definitely an eventful weekend and we had the perfect weather for it!

How I prep for the week

April 19, 2017

Taking time out of your weekend to prepare for the week ahead can help eliminate a lot of stress that comes with the beginning of the week. I like to set aside about an hour of so on Sunday evenings to look at the coming week.

Start by filling out your planner
I like to set aside some time on Sunday nights to fill out my planner for the week ahead. I don't like writing out my assignments too far in advance because I tend to get stressed out when I see too much at once. I like to put down any due dates in the monthly view and then write them down in the weekly view on Sundays.

Clear your inbox
I love starting my week off with no emails in my inbox. I try to go through them a little bit through out the week whenever I have some down time (which is very rare lately). Getting rid of all the junk emails makes it easier to find any important ones you get throughout the week.

Plan your outfits
Some people are really good at planning out all the details of their outfits for the entire week. I am not one of those people. I just like to look at the weather for the week and get a general idea of what kind of outfits I should plan, and then set them out the night before I am going to wear them. I really like using StyleBook to put together outfits that I can pick from.

Pick up your room
I like to pick up anything that is laying on the floor or is out of place in my room at the end of the week. Starting the week out with a clean room really helps clear my head and makes me feel like I'm starting out Monday morning on a clean slate. I think it's especially important to do this if you have a desk and do all your work there.

What are your tips for getting ready for the week ahead?

Top Spring Nails Polish Picks

I don't know about you, but I always have my nails done. I don't feel put together with chipped or unpainted nails. Spring is all about cheery pastels, and your nails should match. Picking out a nail color can be the hardest thing at the nail salon, or even when you're doing your own nails. To make that process a little easier, I rounded up some of my favorite, fun nail polish colors for spring.
