5 Things to Do for your Health Everyday

8:00 AM

With the new year not that long ago, many people are trying to keep up with their New Year's resolutions. For many people, myself included, one of their resolutions is to "be healthier", or something of the sorts.
I really feel that the past month or so I have been leading a much healthier lifestyle than I used to and I plan to keep it up! I wanted to share with you guys the little things that I do everyday that help me keep up with my resolution. I am by no means a health expert, these are just the things that have been working for me.
Spring Break is right around the corner ;)

Drink water!
This is probably the most important one on the list. It's super important that you get enough water. Staying hydrated helps with bloating and makes working out so much easier (it's true!)
I've heard lots of different recommendations for how much you should be drinking each day. I personally follow the amount recommended by my Fitbit. When in doubt, drink 8 glasses a day!

Plan meals for the day
I applaud anyone who can meal plan for a whole week in advance. I prefer to plan my meals by day, whether it's the night before or the morning of. It let's me have the things that I'm in the mood for that day and lets me work around my plans for the day.
Planning your meals helps put into perspective how much you're eating and lets you make sure you're going to get the right serving of food every day.

15 minutes of activity
Even if you just take a light walk make sure you're getting at least 15 minutes of exercise each day. On top of this you should keep up with your usual workout schedule on top of this. If it's a rest day or you don't have enough time for a full workout, take a walk outside or do some yoga.

Cut out sugar filled drinks
I'm looking at you soda. Sugary drinks are filled with calories and little to no nutritional value. By cutting them out you will see a huge difference in the way you feel and probably the way you eat. If you can't get rid of bubbly drinks entirely try drinking seltzer water.

Don't compare yourself
Comparing yourself to other people, whether it's someone you know or a picture online isn't going to get you anywhere. They had an entirely different fitness journey than you. Everyone is different. As long as you feel good on the inside, you're making progress.
