Spring Semester School Supplies Haul

January 18, 2017

Yesterday was my first day of my spring classes and while I'm pretty sad that break is over I'm happy to be back on a schedule.
If you're anything like me you love buying new school supplies and having a whole new set of classes each semester is the perfect excuse to take a trip to Staples and Target. I wanted to share the supplies I got incase any of you guys wanted some new ways to organize all your work or are simply just curious how other do it like I am.
I didn't get nearly as much as I do at the beginning of the year so I am going to throw in a few items that I had previously that are just getting a refresher for the new semester.

New Notebooks

As much as I like using loose leaf and binders the binders can get pretty bulky and I tend to forget (read: am too lazy) to put the papers in the right divider or even in the rings all together. I like using notebooks and folders because they're not as bulky and I file away any handouts that I'm not currently using anyway. I opted for a small two subject notebook to carry with me all day to take all my "rough draft" notes in and a three subject notebook to copy them all down neat and pretty based on each class. The full size one subject notebook is for my calculus class since we do more problems and homework than taking notes.

Stylus Pens
I'm really going to try and carry around my iPad more than my laptop with me this semester. It's lighter and takes up more space, plus I can "handwrite" notes on it. I did not get the Apple Pencil (even though now I think I might splurge) so I wanted to get a stylus to write with rather than just my finger. These ones were pretty cheap compared to most regular ones and I like how they serve a dual purpose with the pen on the other end.

Marker Pens
While these Papermate fineliners aren't new I definitely want to try and incorporate them more than just using them in my agenda. I aspire to have pretty, Pinterest worthy notes this semester (Don't we all?)

A Good, Black Pen

A black pen that you can write neatly with is so important to have in your pencil case! Trust me when I say a pen can definitely have an effect on your handwriting. One of my favorites (and the one pictured above) is the Pentel EnerGel 05. It has a very fine tip and writes so smoothly. I haven't found that it bleeds through the paper I use either.

What did you get for the spring semester? Leave me a comment down below!

Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette First Impressions

January 4, 2017

I'm so excited to say that I finally got my hands on the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette! I've been wanting this ever since they released it the first time around but it sold out before I could even go to the store to look for it.

I also picked up one of the new lip glosses that came out with the re-release.

Let me start off by saying the packaging is so cute! The little peach "mascot" is on all of the products and he's just so adorable. The pinks and shades of peach they used are some of my favorite colors so that probably played a big part drawing me in.
When you first open up the palette you're definitely hit with the peach scent but it's not overwhelming. Personally I like it a little better than the scent of their chocolate line even though I love anything and everything chocolate!

The palette has a great variety of colors and finishes. I can honestly say I never thought that I'd own a green eye shadow but I'm already excited to try out 'Bless Her Heart'
I'd say there are a few more matte shades than there are shimmer but that is what I personally prefer to wear anyway

The palette comes with a booklet of three looks that you can recreate with it. I think it's a really great feature if you're just starting out with makeup or want to try something new but aren't sure how to create a look that will come together nicely. My personal favorite that I've worn is the Peaches & Cream. It's a simple look that you can wear every day and switch up a little for different occasions.

I got the lipgloss in 'Pure Peach'. The peach scent carries into the lip glosses as well and call me crazy but I even think they have a faint peach taste. This is a super pretty, toned down Barbie pink color. I've been wearing this every day and I love it! It's super hydrating and very pigmented to the point I don't even wear a lipstick under it.

Leave a comment letting what you think of the line if you have any products or if you're planning on buying some.
If you like these types of posts and would like to see more like it from me let me know as well.

New Year's Resolutions

January 1, 2017

Happy New Year everyone! Now it's the time for resolutions and new beginnings. Today I'm sharing with you my goals for the new year. Here's to making 2017 a great year!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

1. Lose another 10-15lbs- Last Christmas my dad got my mom and I FitBits. I lost about 25 pounds this past year and I plan to keep it up. I'm not trying to lose the weight to look good although that is certainly a big plus but rather to get down to a healthy weight for my height. (One of the downsides to being 5' 2")

2. Use my planner every day- I'm usually super good about using my planner to write down things related to school but when it comes to writing things down on the weekend or over break that aren't school related I slack a little bit. Then I end up forgetting things or planning things too close together and get stressed.

3. Grow my Instagram to 1000 followers- this also means taking more pictures to post. Instagram is super important to bloggers and I think that by growing my Instagram I will be able to grow my blog more too. You can go follow me on Instagram @cuteandclassyblog to help me get a head start 😊

4. Clean every weekend-my car is super clean, my school supplies are super orangized and my purse is pretty organized for being the "black hole of death" that I typically refer to it as. However my room and my other spaces in my house are SUPER messy. I plan on spending a lot of time over break cleaning them up and once I do I want to stick to cleaning them every weekend to keep it from ever getting this bad again.

5. Work one week ahead- I want to get all my work done for the following week rather than saving the work for the few days before it's due. It will help keep me less stressed and let me do things as they come up without having to worry about getting work done that is due the same week, because it'll already be done.

6. Be more positive-I have met some very negative people in my life and I would like to think I am nowhere near as bad as they are but I do think that everyone can work on being a little more positive and a little happier and it will really have a big impact on your life. Positive mindset, positive rewards.

What are your resolutions for 2017?
